The tyranist's thoughts
If you are currently pregnant, may soon be pregnant, or just know someone that is pregnant, perhaps you won't want to watch this one. Not that it is ultimately effective, rather it brings up a few disturbing possibilities. Oh, and you should probably not watch this one if your name is Rish Outfield since it contains material likely to render you senseless with fear of the future. And because it features children. Evil children.
A desperate couple go to an OB/GYN who has a remarkable success rate with infertile parents. Soon they are expecting a little one, but things get weirder and weirder (including side-effects of pregnancy that are so ridiculously out of bounds that any normal human would question the whole thing a lot earlier). As you can imagine something is wrong.
This was pretty middling for a horror flick and while it wasn't too bad, it wasn't that great either. The plot falls somewhere between Sweet Evil and Village of the Damned. The script is decent as well as the acting. Watch for a barely recognizable Lisa Kudrow. This almost distracted me enough that I forgot I what I was watching for a moment. Rodman Flender does his usual capable job. I sometimes wonder what he would be capable of given the right script and backing.
You might like this one, and you might not. It's kind of hard to tell as it's one of those mediocre movies that is just a little hard to read. It's probably worth seeing once.
