Spectre's Review
Very, very enjoyable. There were only a couple of things I didn't really like about the book. There were a couple areas that just took too long, and then there were a couple areas that used too much 'stream-of-consciousness' type writing. I'm not too partial to such.

The fighting sequences were quite wonderful, and very well done. I really liked the idea of the military science behind this book, and it had a great deal of very interesting ideas regarding troop movement, troop placement. It also didn't appear to borrow too heavily from Starship Troopers or other similar armor type books.

Character generation was pretty good, and I really liked how Lewis, who owned the planet Sanction actually turned out to be Felix. I also enjoyed how the writing style switched between third- and first-person perspective.

7 rockets for Exploration/Quest is for the fact that Jack and Holly are trying to determine what happened to Felix. 10 rockets for lots and lots of excellent fighting sequences. 1 rocket for body parts and general horror. 7 rockets for some really interesting scientific ideas. 3 rockets for some science that seemed fascinating, and 8 rockets for the ants. I loved them.

Spectre's Rating
Minus one for being just a little long in parts. Minus one for a bit too much 'stream-of-consciousness' writing.
