Spectre's Review
This is definitely a filler book, intended to get the reader interested in the rest of the series. Well, it did a good job. I really
like the galaxy created by Cherryh. The names of the alien species are sometimes annoying, but it's still very interesting.
I especially like how the human's are portrayed. Most science fiction is written from the perspective of the humans. This
one is written with humans as the newcomers, the Outsiders. A refreshing perspective. I like Pyanfar Chanur, and the
Hani race. They are well constructed. I hate the Kif, but that is the intention of the author, and she does a very good job
making you detest them. Get the series, read it, and slap it into your permanent collection.
Spectre's Rating
An excellent sequel.
