Spectre's Review
Hmm. I liked this one quite a bit better than the first book. Wolfe's writing style seemed to be more flowing in this one. Severian's character has matured quite nicely, and his relationship with Dorcas is definitely very interesting. I like the depth of the characters. One thing I'm starting to like about this series is the way it's a cross between fantasy and science fiction. The story moves in an interesting pattern, and I still have no idea what the plot is. I don't think there is one. There may be a few subplots, and a vague general plot, but neither are defined. It's still very enjoyable, though.
