Spectre's Review
What a fine conclusion to a superb series. Again, the characters are so well put together it's amazing. Never before have I rooted for the evil guy. The interaction between Damien and Tarrant is delicious. Damien is a priest in the order Tarrant started a thousand years ago. This really disgusts Damien, who is quite a bit more warrior than priest anyway. He sees much of himself in Tarrant, and this is hard for him. Damien has to team up with evil so good will prevail. The neat thing to see here is Tarrant's own evolution towards good. He's totally damned to hell for eternity, but he still wants to help mankind. Kind of a paradox, but well played, and Friedman is very consistent. Wonderful, just wonderful.
