Notes and Corrections for the GA Heart of the Swarm Videos
What’s New in this Expansion Pack?
Some of the video excerpts can be found in their entirety at Battlenet and StarCraft Wiki.
Heart of the Swarm missions typically have a main objective and bonus objectives, and also an achievement that can be completed on casual difficulty or higher, another that can be completed on normal difficulty or harder, and a third that can be completed on hard difficulty or higher; the latter is called a “mastery achievement.” Some people wait until the end of the campaign to go back and play through missions from the mastery archive to get the harder achievements; playing from the mastery archive allows changing both mutations and evolutions, and using more upgrades. If you think the campaign is too easy, try going through it from scratch on brutal difficulty, getting all objectives and all achievements without saves (and without using the mastery archive).
One additional tidbit of information for people new to StarCraft II: if your Mac is having graphics difficulties after several minutes of play, and if it starts freezing, it’s possibly too hot. Check temps with something like iStat Pro, and use something like smcFanControl if necessary to cool things down.
The Umoja Missions
The campaign-related web page mentioned in the video is at Liquipedia II: Campaign (this is an exceedingly helpful web page).
The Char Missions
In Fire in the Sky, the video narrative mentions going after the third orbital command before activating the sixth scourge nest, and then misspeaks about going in before the last (seventh) scourge nest. To avoid those drop pods, go before activating the sixth scourge nest.
A Caution About Seeker Missiles
The Raven’s health was in the yellow; at full health it would have survived.
