"Penny Plunge"  for the Birthday children, ages 2 to 18.  We have a huge bowl of pennies.  We place the bowl of pennies at one end of the room and an empty bowl about 20 feet away.  The birthday child gets to transfer as many pennies as he/she can from the full bowl to the empty bowl in about 30 seconds.  All the cousins line up on the sides to cheer them on.  The child gets the pennies he successfully transferred (we trade for money and keep the pennies for next time).  You can adjust the time and the distance for different ages and for your pocketbook!



"Candy Bar Hunt"   We let each birthday person, child and adult, choose their favorite two candy bars from a large selection.  Then the other children hide the two candy bars.  The children lead the birthday person to his prizes by saying "hot" or "cold" as he/she goes the right or wrong direction.
