Andreas Weidknecht was born in 16441, son of Martin and Barbara Weidknecht.2 Church records from Adelshofen, Germany record the marriage of Andreas Weidknecht to Catharina Weidknecht, daughter of Hans and Catherina Weidknecht on 14 Nov 1671. Catharina was born in 1648.3

Records indicate that Andreas was an attorney and at one time Schultheiß (schultheize) of Adelshofen. The Schultheiß was an office similar to mayor. According to one source, terms were for two years, so it was not uncommon for several individuals to have been Schultheiß for a time.

Andreas' wife Catharina died on 12 Nov 1675 at the age of 27.4 Andreas then married Anna Elisabethat Schlutter on 25 July 1677.5

Andreas and Catharina are the parents of the following children:
