In the Name of God Amen. I, John Whitenick of Frederick County & Province of MaryLand being very sick & weak but in perfect Reason & memory, doth appoint ?? settle, make this by these presents my last Will & Testament. First, I give my Soul to God almighty & my Body to the Earth; and as to my Effects in this world I settle, divide, & bequeath as follows. I leave and bequeath to my eldest Son John fifty pounds Current Money of Pensilvania together with the 2 year old Chisnut Sorrel Stallion, my said Son to have the said said (sic) Stallin immediately after my Deceased. Also I leave & Bequeath to my youngest Son Benjamin the Sum of fifty pounds Current Money of Pennlvania the same to be paid to him when he is or comes or arrives at the full age of twenty one years, and when my Son John arrives at the full age of twenty one years him to be paid also & not before, And as to the rest of my Effects & Chattles I settle, divide, & bequeath as followeth, that my dear Wife Catherine shall have and enjoy all my plantation & all my Effects as long as she lives Widden or until her Death whichever shall first happen, and the Profits arising out of my Plantation over and above what is necessary towards the Support, Cloathing, & Schooling of my Children shall be lodged in the Hands of my Executors whom I shall hereafter appoint & them my said Executors to put the same out to Interest, as also for my Executors to immediately Call in the Sum of twenty Pounds Current Money which is now in the Hands of James Gibson and also the Sum of twelve pounds ten Shillings Current Money which is now in the Hands of Humphrey Cunningham, and to have them both put out to Interest; with Bonds & Security for the same to be taken by my Executors; & after the Decease or as long as my Wife said dear Wife lives single, whichever ?? shall first happen, that together with the Sale or Value of all my Effects which shall be sold immediately after her Decease or Widowhood, shall be equally divided, after paying them my said two Sons the Sums respectively above mentioned when they arrive at the full Age of twenty one years aforesaid, that then the Remainder to be equally divided among my said two Sons and six Daughters. Reserving and bequeathing unto her my Dear Wife one C?? which she is to dispose of as she thinks proper. It is also my Will and Pleasure that all my Effects after my Decease shall be valued except the Stallion that I have bequeathed to my Son, & the C?? that I have bequeathed to my Wife. I say it is my Will that the same shall be valuded & then given unto my Executors to have the same kept on the Plantation for the Benefit & use of my Wife & Children, untill the Death or Marriage of her my said Wife which ever shall first happen, & then the whole to be sold & the money to be deposed in the Hands of my Executors, to be kept for the use and Benefit of my children, and in Case my said Wife should Marry, that then my said Executors shall take Care of my said two Sons & six Daughters, adn give to them Maintain, Cloathing, & Schooling sufficient or suitable for them, the Expenses of the same to be paid out of the Interest of the Money and Effects above mentioned in Case the Death of any of my Children should happen that the part they are intitled to will be equally divided amont the rest. It is also my Will that this Money ?? at Interest & the Sale of the Goods and Effects that I now have shall shall (sic) not be divided or sold, nor no Effects that I have be distributed in any Respect what ever untill the Death of her my Dear Wife Catharine or during her Widownhood which ever shall first happen. And I do hereby nominate and appoint Jacob Wimmer of Frederick County & Province of Maryland and also my Son John Whitneck within mentioned my heir and Lawful Executors. Desiring and Requesting that they may have & see Justice done to her my Dear Wife Catherine & her eight children & to have this my Las Will & Testament fulfilled in every Respect, as Witness my hand & Seal this first Day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred & seventy four.

On the 26th Day of July 1774 Came Robert Porteus & Isaac Wimmer two of the Subscribing Witnesses to the aforegoing Will & mand Oath on the holy Evangelists of Almighty God, that they did see the Testator John Whitineck sign and Seal the said Will & heard him publish, pronounce, & declare the same to be his Last Will & Testament & that at the Time of his so doing he was to the best of their apprehensions of a sound & desporing Mind & Memory, & that also did see Patrick Watson the other subscribing Witness to the said Will sign his Name as a Witness thereto & that the severally subscribed their Names as Witnesses to the said Will in presence of the said Testator & un the presence of each other.
