Know all men by this will That I Joseph C Whitnah of Clarinda Page County Iowa being aware of the uncertainty of Life but being of sound and disposing mind and good memory though in poor health make publish and declare this for and to be my last will and testament hereby revoking all previous wills by me made.

Item I. It is my will that all my just debts including expenses of last illness and funeral expenses be first paid out of my personal estate.

Item II. It is my will and I give grant devise & bequeath to my beloved wife Sarah A. Whitnah all the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate of whatever kind and description and especially all money or property coming to me from the estate of my Father A.J. Whitnah late of Fulton Co. Ill. where his estate is now being settled It being my intention that this shall be in lieu of Dower or distributive share of my said wife in my estate This item and property this day deeded to her being more than 1/3 of my estate.

Item III. It is my will and I give grant devise & bequeath to my beloved children Fred J. Whitnah of Clarinda Iowa Corda F. Bennett of Clarinda Iowa Harry A. Whitnah of Clarinda Ia Blanch V. Whitnah of Clarinda Ia and Burl Whitnah of Clarinda Iowa all the real estate not this day disposed of To-wit the farm owned by me in connection with them To-wit the North half of the Southeast Quarter & the East 25 1/2 acres of the Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter and the East 5 1/2 acres of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter all in & a part of Section Numbered Eleven (11) in Township Numbered Sixty Eight (68) North Range Numbered Thirty Seven (37) West of the 5th P.M. Share & Share alike. This being in accordance with the desire of my Father who purchased said farm for us and also in accordance with the terms & conditions of the deed to said farm which I wish to carry out.

Item IV. It is my will and I name nominate & appoint my beloved wife Sarah A Whitnah sole executrix of this my last will and testament and authorize her to enter upon and discharge this trust without giving bond.

The foregoing instrument was executed by Joseph C. Whitnah this Aug 7th 1899 in our presence He signing the same in our presence & we at his request & in his presence & in the presence of each other signed the same as witnesses Joseph C. Whitnah declaring the same to be his last will and testament witness our hands the day & year above written.

Wenstrand, Clerk of the District Court within and for said County, do hereby certify that the foregoing attached instrument of writing was on the 11 day of October 1899 duly admitted to probate as the Last Will and Testament of Joseph C. Whitnah, deceased, as is shown by the records probate of said Court, in Book "H" page .

In witness whereof I hereto set my hand and affix the seal of said Court at Clarinda, this 28 day of October 1899.
