Subject: (orb) Promo Cydonia????
The last days I saw a couple of people asking about promo's from Cydonia,
that no one seems to have.
I don't understand because:
At this moment I got two promo's from Cydonia (for more than a month), two
promo's from Once More including all the mixes (for about two months) and a
very special 40 minutes mix for a couple of weeks at home.
I put the tracklisting on this list a couple of weeks ago?
Cydonia suppossed to be album of the month in Dutch Bassic Groove magazine
#1 of 2001, on the streets at january 30th. But as the releasedate is now
set on february 26th it will be album of the month in the second issue of
this year, that will appear at the end of february.
I find it a bit ridiculous that it's album of the month in this issue of
Muzik. Expect a lot of people running into the shops to find out it takes
almost six weeks before it get a release.

Remember Orbital's "the Earth is Burning" on Diversions- they too have a

My favourite twisted soundbite used by the orb on stage would have to be the
'singing in the rain' that they always used to play at the end of their
gigs, whilst at the same time a lady in yellow overalls danced around on
stage with a big umbrella. Don't particularly remember 'favourite things',
but that could be the drugs we were on. Are you sure it was Julie Andrews
singing? Not Audrey Hepburn who, I beleive, was in the film of 'My Fair
Lady'?

I'll make sure that 40-min mix is uploaded as soon as I get it, so it should be there early next week. In time, more and more music will find its way to the site, and it's the idea not to restrict things to Orb stuff only... The necessary information is:

you guys might enjoy this mp3 player. it has a non-standard
interface - and some sleek animated displays. however, it's rather
un-taxing on your system... it's stuttered less than winamp does when
using other applications. it's still in beta, but so far no crashes...
it indexes everything by the ID3 tag so that you can look up by
artist/album/track name - or by directory or by playlists called
'favorites'
... so far i've been generally impressed. check it out - you might
like it.

Really cool stuff, especially the orbitally Ambient
Mix,there are voices in it,I can`t tell. And it did
not cost me a lot of money, great!
Besides here are my ten favourite Sc-Fi films:
La Jetee by Chris Marker (the first?)
Brazil by Terry Gilliam
Invasion of the body snatchers by Don Siegel
Solaris by Andrej Terkowski
Blade runner by Ridley Scott
Alphaville by Lemmy Caution
The Matrix
12 Monkeys by Terry Gilliam
Dark Star by John Carpenter
Dark City by Alex Projas
(12 Monkeys is inspired by Chris Markers La Jetee!)
Can``t wait for Cydonia anymore, lokking lot of
Science-Fiction films instead,I think thats the best
way,

I rarely remember dreams and even more rarely describe them to people, but
this one was on-topic..
I imagined that Alex got fed up with the fact that the record label was
delaying Cydonia for another umpteen years, and he decided to make CDR
copies of "Cydonia Final" and distribute them himself. They had a white
cover with plain black text of each track on the cover. I noticed that the
first track was a data track with one text file. The text was written by
Alex and he went on to describe why he is distributing this himself and also
points out that he cannot make money with CD sales alone. He goes on and
says "in an effort to make money, we have decided to team up with eBay and
auction all of our drug paraphernalia which we used to make the album."
eBay had a specialized website created with the Orb logo across the top
(written in Orblivion font) and faint Terrarum graphics in the background.
Listed were bongs, spoons, alligator clips, tobacco paper, odd-shaped metal
devices, and even that blue thing from the Pomme Fritz video!
Then I woke up and stared at the wall for a minute.
Well, the next time I get a bad cold and have to take something that says
"may cause drowsiness", I have to watch how may of those I take..
