Mix sugar, syrup and water in a large, heavy saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
Boil without stirring until temperature reaches 310 or until drops of syrup form hard and brittle threads in cold water. |

Stir in flavoring and coloring.
Pour over sticks on lightly oiled cookie sheet. Cool.

To decorate: Dip candies in light corn syrup and stick on lollipops. |
