Preheat oven to 350°.
Cream shortening, butter, and sugars very well. Add eggs, vanilla, and cream until fluffy. |

In a large bowl, sift dry ingredients together and add creamed mixture 1/3 at a time. |

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Do not let brown while baking or cookies will be overdone. |
