In 1857 Brigham Young was to be replaced as the Territorial Governer of Utah. Fearing an uprising Johnstons Army, 2,500 strong, was sent to Utah. To delay the Army a small milita was sent from Salt Lake City to destroy the lightly guarded supply wagon trains on the trail. Simpsons Hollow is one place where these attacks took place.
These signs are found on Wy 28 between Farson and the Green River
After 75 miles of riding we arrived in Diamondville/Kemmerer. Kemmerer is the location of the first J.C. Penney store.
