General Notes: Husband - Joseph DEWSNUP
Temple baptism 11 Dec.1917 but in Joseph's words " I was baptised in my 11th year (1850?) in Manchester, England.
In a letter from Nephi to Phoebe Smoot dated 1 Oct. 1938 he states, " I have by the way a very dim recollection of having seen Holstein Warner when he visited Grandpa at Manchester, England. I was only a little boy then but I was living with Grandpa Dewsnup at 17 Dawson St.,Hulme, Manchester. What about omitting the CR and see what happens if you paste it to a note with some text already.

DEWSNUP, Joseph, Sr.
Joseph Dewsnup, Sr., joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1850. He immigrated to America on the ship Siddons in 1855 and settled at Philadephia County, Pennsylvania. He returned to England in 1860 and was there ordained an elder.
Joseph was baptized a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 16 September 1876 by Thomas Taylor. He was ordained an elder and appointed secretary of the Manchester Branch on 17 September 1876. At this time he was an inspector on the Manchester Police Force. In 1877 he became president of the Manchester Branch. When the Manchester District was formed he was chosen president of it and remained so until 1901, when he retired. He was ordained a high priest on 5 August 1894. He was ordained counselor to Bishop Thomas Taylor at the organization of the bishopric of England in 1901 and served until 1906.
.
According to Joseph's diary they were married in 1857 so the 1859 date could be 1857.
Since family lore has it that Anne dragged Joseph back to England because she would have nothing to do with polygamy, it is unlikely they would have had their first child out of wedlock.
