ROBERT BERRY'S
WEIRD MOVIE STUFF #1
Amazing facts for your viewing pleasure:
- J.D. ("Catcher in the Rye") Salinger's son, Matthew, played the title
character in the delayed, then direct-to-video "CAPTAIN AMERICA"
- Rumor has Charlton Heston cast as Dr. Zaius in a planned Oliver Stone
remake of "PLANET OF THE APES"
- In the pan-and-scan version of the home video of "PULP FICTION" you
can't see the box of Fruit Brute cereal next to Eric Stoltz as he's
eating breakfast, getting the nervous call from Travolta
- In the film "CITIZEN KANE", Rosebud was of course, the sled, but the
name was supposedly chosen by Orson Wells as a dig on real-life Hearst,
who used "Rosebud" as a nickname for his gal's private area
- Charles Bukowski, who wrote the great "BARFLY" starring Mickey Rourke,
and countless other great works, can be seen in one of the bar scenes,
nursing a bottle of beer, he was disappointed with the edit, as he
was able to take a huge, and perfectly spit it back into the sitting
bottle on film, but the scene was cut out
Video Recommendation of the Day
"KING of COMEDY" Starring Robert Deniro, Jerry Lewis, and Sandra Bernhardt
Check out this underrated Scorcese classic. Very dark-humored, and often
disturbing, it's definitely the best thing Lewis has ever done. I feel
this movie is even more contemporary than ever before with our growing
obsession with media figures, and the increasingly weird state of late night
television.
