MOVIE QUOTE OF THE DAY

"Life is pain,
anybody that tries to tell you otherwise is selling something."
                                        -THE PRINCESS BRIDE

AMAZING MOVIE FACT-O-RAMA-ULTRA-JUBILEE-O-FUNK-A-PUSS

  1. The arm-wrestler (sadly forgot his name) in the Stallone pic, OVER THE TOP that was his main rival also happened to be the real life World Arm-Wrestling Champion at the time. Would you believe at the end of the film, Stallone beats him? Who'd a figgured?

  2. Donny and Marie once starred in a film together called GOIN COCONUTS! While Jimmy Osmond starred in the movie version of THE GREAT BRAIN. BONUS QUESTION: What film did Sonny and Cher star in?

  3. Some animators revealed that a scene that was cut out of WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT per Disney's insistence was a clip in Toon-Town that showed a big black car driving up, full of Tex Avery style wolves, and then Snow White walks out, as the driver shouts, "Thanks, doll!"

  4. Tom Waits makes his film debut playing a pool hall owner in Coppola's RUMBLEFISH. Also former Wall of Voodoo frontman Stan Ridgeway has a great song "Don't Box Me In" that only appears on this soundtrack.

  5. After making his movie debut in Rodney Dangerfield's BACK TO SCHOOL, Sam Kinison was cast in a property built around him called ATUK, which was about a wacky Eskimo. According to the late Kinson, the script was so awful, and he knew what a stinker he was getting into that he pulled out. After breaking his contracts and getting sued, he became almost untouchable for other projects in film after that, having to settle for cameos on various FOX shows.

  6. The latest collection of Charles Bukowski letters reveals that Kris Kristofferson was also an original choice for the Henry Chinaski character eventually played by Mickey Rourke in BARFLY. He writes that during the scene where Chinaski goes to his apartment and listens to loud classical music, Kristofferson could whip out his guitar and sing along. Buk recommened a whole-hearted NO! to this idea.

GOOF-ASS PROFILE O' THE DAY - BOB "BOBCAT" GOLDTHWAIT

An excellent stand up comedian, Bob Goldthwait has had some of the worst luck ever with his film career. With the exception of POLICE ACADEMY II, which was a success merely because of it's coasting of the original power, he has yet to be in a movie worth half a damn. Check out some of these "gems" he has appeared in:

HOT TO TROT: Basically a Mr. Ed movie where Bob befriends a talking
horse. Check out Dabney Coleman as a bucktoothed bad guy
that looks just like a horse, too. HEE HAW!

BURGLAR: Plays Whoopi Goldberg's pal and screams and whines a lot.

ONE CRAZY
SUMMER: Appears off and on in this film starring John Cusack, who
just wrapped BETTER OFF DEAD to make this bomb. Bob's
hardly in it, but he has a scene on the beach in which he
              hands a boy a load o' balloons and...get this...
the kid floats away!!! HEEE HEEEEHeee hehehheeee

SHAKES THE
CLOWN: Damn how I wanted to like this movie. I figured with Bob
starring, writing, and directing this one, it had to be good.
Boy was I wrong. It starts out very promising, having him
waking up drunk, with a trashy prostitute played by Florence
Henderson leaving his apartment. Unfortunately, the movie
just can't decide if it wants to be an adult or kiddie comedy.
Some minor good things, like mime beating, makes this sort
              of worthwhile.

SCROOGED: Not TOOOOOOOOOO bad in this, but just more of the same
              annoying whining crap.
And there's others that are equally bad! Somebody give ol' Bob a break! Get him in a real good film! He can do it.

TRIVIAsplooch...test your luck at this worthless guck

  1. Though more widely known as a Whitney Houston song in THE BODYGUARD, who was the original writer/artist of "I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU" and what film did it debut in? (hint: think Scorcese)

  2. What was the only color scene in the black and white RUMBLEFISH starring Matt Dillon and Mickey Rourke in this Coppola directed SE Hinton film?

  3. Who played the "soc" (pronounced soesh) in THE OUTSIDERS that was killed in self-defense by Pony Boy and Johnny.

  4. What film was billed as "THE CITIZEN KANE of ALCOHOLIC CLOWN MOVIES"?
