; Today's image is a scene in the parent fractal that results when 
; the expression Z^(1.7)+C is iterated 28 levels up the complex 
; logarithmic hyperspiral.  This parent consists of a large 
; twisted fractal with a large s-shaped bay, the whole thing 
; surrounded by disconnected minibrot-like smaller fractals.  
; Today's scene lies in a blunt valley in one of these small 
; fractals well southeast of the main body of the fractal complex.

; I named the image "A Skewed Outlook" when I noticed the totally 
; different appearance of the left and right halves of the scene.  
; This unexpected difference earns the math part of the image a 
; rating of an 8.  The art part rates a 7, which is above average 
; but nothing to brag about.
; 
; The calculation time of 5-3/4 minutes might start to drag for 
; those fractalists with other tasks to attend to.  Here is where

; A typically warm and muggy hazy summer day passed uneventfully 
; here at Fractal Central today.  The temperature of 91F 33C kept 
; things on the lazy side, especially among the fractal cats, who 
; spent most of the afternoon stretched out in the living room.  
; The humans, unable to take it as easy, spent the day doing the 
; necessary things as slowly as possible.  The day ended with a 
; heavy thunder-storm that dropped the temperature to 70F 21C.
; 
; The next FOTD will be posted in a day or two.  Until then, take 
; care, and the more 'news' I see on the mass media outlets, the 
; more I wonder how much of that 'news' has been carefully chosen
