President William Wollerton Ritter (or Riter).

• born: Chester Co., Pennsylvania
• Mission: 1863-1865, Germany, Switzerland;
  1865, Austria; 1865-1866, Great Britain
• career/calling: helped build the Utah Central Railroad,
  and roads leading south of Salt Lake City.
• Wife: single when he served as mission president.
  (Later married Susan Denten [3 children],
  and when she died, Priscilla Jennings [6 children].)
