I read it, though with a memory like swiss cheese, most of it has seeped out
of my mind since then. As I recall, the book distinctly covers two
subjects: the psychology of trading and losing and winning, etc. and
detailed explanations of many technical indicators. Both topics are
explored well and are very interesting, though to be honest, I think I
bailed out of reading about the last few indicators. It became a little
tiresome reading such technical detail, but it's a great reference to have
on the bookshelf anyway.

Since one of the first "trading" book I read was HTMMIS, I have tried to put
every subsequent book I've read into that context. I try to make the
information fit into WON's framework of how the market works. This book,
IMO, is complimentary to HTMMIS in some ways, though Elder's timing
techniques may have you setting different buy and sell points than WON.

Anyway, the "psychology of trading" stuff alone makes the book worthwhile.
(Isn't Elder's background in psychology?)

Wish I could remember more. If I had the book in front of me, I'd give a
more accurate review, but I hope this helps a little.

A friend is recommending Alexander Elder's book "Trading for a Living."
Have any of you smarter guys read it? Do you have any opinions about it?

Is this an inappropriate question?
