  Hi Andreas,

One reason why it may have been denied at ETrade is that they may not =
have any shares available to borrow against for your short. This is one =
of those times where having a different broker has its advantages. There =
should be no reason that your ET should require a sell limit order for =
shorting. You should be able to sell short at market. Only one quick =
uptick this morning so far at 9:40EST, so if the shares were available =
you (theoretically) would have been able to get a fill.

    Hi,

I want to my first short sell I ever did and somehow got problems =
with it (it gets denied at Etrade)

I have a margin account and it should be possible for me to do it.
Do I have to put in a sell limit?
I know there has to be an uptick, so the sell will take place.=20
    Something else to know?

Oh, the share in question is TPC

    See you

    Andreas
