I would be very careful about buying the cheerleaders line that the economy is getting better. Look at the underlying numbers closely. Remember the old adage . . . Liars figure and statistics lie! Businesses are in business to make a profit, supposedly. The retail sales boom according to my friends in the retail industry were at extremely low margins. And I totally agree, the volume is not convincing. -----Original Message----- From: owner-canslim@lists.xmission.com [mailto:owner-canslim@lists.xmission.com]On Behalf Of Tom Worley Sent: Thursday, February 14, 2002 8:19 AM To: canslim@lists.xmission.com Subject: [CANSLIM] "M" Looks like the only index to be close to even average daily volume on yesterday's nice gains was the Russell 2000 (about time, I say!!!). I agree with Tim, I want to see some serious break out type volume before I assume that we have a follow thru day. Volume for the indexes was up from the prior day, but not convincing. Very tentative. But hey, the economy is looking better, at least.
