Hi Bert,
I don't have the paper from the 21st, but can tell you where to look =
using today's paper. (2/28)
Look just below the Dow Jones Industrials Chart, lower left of the chart =
and just above the NYSE VOLUME DAILY IN MILLIONS. You'll see a tally of =
the Accumulation/Distribution (A/D) numbers for today.
Of all the stocks in the IBD6000 (Arithmetic Index of the market as a =
whole), the stocks have A/D numbers as follows:
750 have an A/D rating of "A", that number increased +26 from yesterday
2296 are "B", + 11
1114 are "C", -7
881 are "D", -3
377 are "E", -17
The definition of A/D is as follows:
ACCUMULATION / DISTRIBUTION (ACC/DIS) RATING:
One of five Investor's Business Daily SmartSelectT Corporate Ratings, =
this data item allows you to interpret buying and selling activity in a =
stock. It uses a proprietary formula to analyze each stock's daily price =
and volume changes in the latest 13 weeks to determine if the stock has =
been experiencing net accumulation (buying) or distribution (selling) =
activity.
Rating Indication
=20
A Heavy buying=20
B Moderate buying=20
C A neutral balance=20
D Moderate selling=20
E Heavy selling=20
Since institutions exert the largest influence on many stocks' price and =
volume, an A or B rating may indicate buying by institutional investors.

Subject: Re: [CANSLIM] Acc/dis numbers -- market in correction
Hello,
I need some help with the acc/dis numbers.
I went to IBD 2/21/02 issue looking for the following numbers on pg B2 =
and
could not find them, 2/21/02,675,2182,1171,975,414.
Where do they come from? I read the previous post with the numbers =
going
back to 12/1/98 and understand what is being calculated but don't =
understand
the significance of the results.
My HTMMIS is lost in a house redecorating project.
Thanks for the help
