What I don't know is just how much more the Indian gaming industry can =
expand, or need to replace / upgrade existing equipment. Like the home =
construction biz, seems like it has been growing so fast for so long =
that it must sometime hit a saturation point. Any insight / info from =
members (lurkers included) is welcomed.

  Tom,
I believe the replacement cycle for slot/video machines is three =
years. This is to provide a new experience for customers and provide a =
new look for the casinos. Most of the stand-alone machines are being =
replaced with consoles both for comfort and ease (read "speed") of play. =
Player cards are available that will allow for the deposit of (say) =
$500.00 in an account with the account balance the result of the =
combined wins and losses. They are also moving toward credit cards, so =
that a registered guest can simply plug in a card without having to open =
a separate account, as with a player's card.=20

With all the newness, pay out rates are being reduced. Some people =
still insist on pulling a handle, so most machines with the exception of =
consoles have handles, along with a "spin" button. While there is =
accompanying noise when the handle is pulled, the machine is doing =
nothing more than hitting an internal spin button. Anyway, the result of =
the spin has already been established with the insertion of the first =
coin(or equivalent), and waiting or pulling or adding more coins has no =
bearing on the final outcome.(This is probably more than you wanted to =
know).
  Best wishes,
  Walt

A little discussion on MGAM but not much. After reading about it in =
ibd I waited for the inevitable decline, but it hasn't happened. In =
fact, just the opposite. I believe it was at about 28 when that article =
in New America appeared 1 or 2 mos ago. Is it possible we've got the =
real deal here. Anyone taken a hard look at this co? I could post the =
article but I don't want to step on any toes. You can pull it up in =
IBD' archives for about $4. One serious winner could go a long ways =
right now. Another one that is taking off, although for different =
reasons is PLMD. Good Luck, Bob
