Trouble is, virtual prototyping is only a part of their business, whereas it is all MDII does. And, of course, there is the aspect of shares outstanding as well. MDII traded 58X ADV today. They have several highend cadcam solutions for development through analysis & manufacturrring. Those include: Unigraphics - a product I use every day. http://www.eds.com/products/plm/unigraphics/ Also, Femap - http://www.eds.com/products/plm/femap/ E Factory - http://www.eds.com/products/plm/efactory/ They also own the license rights to the Parasolid kernel. The core for of the latest modeling systems out there. In addition there is also believe it or not IBM. They own Dassault Systems - the makers of Catia, the main competitor to UG. There are a few others but these are the big two leading the way. - -Bill - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Katherine Malm" <kmalm@earthlink.net> To: <canslim@lists.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, March 18, 2002 6:15 AM Subject: Re: [CANSLIM] MDII I know MDII has specific add-ins for product development, so don't think there'll be a lot of players with exactly the same capabilities. Hope this is what you're looking for--direct competitors for MDII are italicized. This is a very high valuation, and may spark interest in other virtual prototyping stocks. I am just happy with nearly a 100% gain in 11 months, but will be checking others in the industry as well. The only other one I had is SSYS, which is actually in a different industry. Katherine, if you get a chance, maybe you could come up with a list of virtual prototyping stocks, regardless of industry classification?
