Singing Machine sees quarterly loss
COCONUT CREEK, Fla., March 22 (Reuters) - The Singing Machine Co.
(AMEX:SMD - news), a maker and distributor of electronic karaoke equipment
and audio software, said on Friday it expects to post a loss for the fiscal
fourth quarter, which it called its seasonally weakest period.

The company said it expects a loss of 2 cents to 4 cents per share on
revenues of $5 million to $6 million for the quarter, ending March 31.

Based on reported results for the first nine months of its fiscal 2002, it
forecast net earnings for the full year of $1 to $1.02 per diluted share, on
revenues of about $60 million. In fiscal 2001 the company earned 56 cents
per diluted share on revenues of $34.3 million.

For fiscal 2003, the company said it expects net earnings of $1.60 to $1.70
per diluted share, on revenues of $110 million to $120 million. The
estimates reflect the company's three-for-two stock split, paid on March 15.

Shares of Singing Machine ended Thursday at a year high of $19.05 on the
American Stock Exchange.
