Thanks for the good message. Actually, I have been following =
Canslim for over 10 years...going back to the Prodigy boards and =
probably even earlier. If I recall Ian was a wise contributor even back =
then.

The general problem with the static on this board is the amount of =
off the topic notes generated. With most of us having limited time to =
read, it can be an effort to slog through the sometimes 100 or so notes =
generated daily. If more notes were on topic the board would be more =
germane to Canslim followers and, in particular, to new devotees of =
O'Neils philosophy.=20

I have made a point of reading all of your notes since joining this =
board after finding it in Forbes!

  Hi John,

If you a fairly new member of the list (forgive me if I am wrong on =
this assumption) you'll find that over time, the list is very much =
devoted to CANSLIM topics and discussions and unlike other lists is not =
inundated with stock touting, excessive list making, or stock "picking." =
The truth is, high growth stocks meeting *all* CANSLIM characteristics =
and currently setting up are far less plentiful than they were in the =
late Bull, so discussion ranges from what's working within an industry, =
what industries are working, what *kinds* of stocks are currently =
working, general CANSLIM principles, effective interpretation of =
technicals and fundamentals, etc. Ian and Tom are both excellent =
contributors and have a taste for microcaps that run under WON's typical =
minimum price. The difference between the stocks they discuss and what =
you refer to as "penny stocks" is a very high correlation to all other =
things CANSLIM. I think you'll also find that there are many list =
contributors (me included) who choose *not* to bring up specific stocks =
that we are currently stalking for purchase and prefer instead more =
general discussions from which we can learn new techniques, making us =
better CANSLIM investors.

It's beyond my ken as to why so much of the mail in the Canslim =
board is
devoted to penny stocks and the like. Why not take these =
non-canslim ideas
    to a better board?
