I have owned SWWC (Southwest Water Co) and AWK (American Water Works). =
W/ SWWC, I made over 25% last year + dividends. American Water has done =
very little lately (seems to be in an eternal flat base). I lived in =
Seattle (which was in drought) and played in Phoenix (growing population =
where water is always scarce) so started looking at water as a source of =
limited supply with growing demand and thought it was likely to mean =
opportunity.
This was NOT CANSLIM investing. It was definitely pre-WON stuff, but I =
was looking for something less volatile after tech wreck experience.
I don't have time this morning, but will put together some notes I =
have on the various players if you are interested, the sector has been =
steadily dropping over the past 4 or 5 months as an IBD group. Think it =
was down to E last I looked.
