I agree 100%, Dave:

I thought I was onto something early in the year. PECS and DRI were two
big winners for me (which I'm out of now), but for each of those I've
got 4 that I got shaken out of. Four more I bailed on with minimal or
break-even, primarily in response to what the market (according to
WON...maybe we can abbreviate that one...ATWON?) was doing.

So, I'm very pleased with CANSLIM and am sick I abandoned it totally
during the bubble. Won't do that again.

I'm TRYING to build a decent watch list and spend about three hours a
day studying and reviewing and studying and reviewing. If I could just
corral all these gyrations into a manageable...you know what I mean!

Hi Duke:

I find that CANSLIM is a useful tool especially in this spooky market --
for
two reasons.

First CANSLIM says, "No", to so many stocks these days. Isn't that what
you
should want from your stock-selection tool under present conditions? I
admit
it's tough because it forces you to research so many non-qualifying
stocks
before you hit one that's both timely and has the performance record to
justify purchase. Hard work.

Second, as Katherine pointed out, even in the lousy market we've had for
the
past two years, you could find charts of hundreds of stocks that had
healthy
rises. Many, if not most of those, started their climbs with breakouts
following WON-type base formations.
My problem is failing to become aware of all of them at breakout time
instead
of too late to chase. I catch a few. If I could catch more at the
right
time, my productivity would go up.

So, don't enjoy your break so much. Buckle down. Keep looking.

Best regards, Dave
