Here we go again. As most will recall I proposed some time ago that we
all throw a few stocks in the hopper and dissect, but, admittedly, the
"watch list" moniker was not apropos. I do think, however, that the new
Web Link feature at IBD could be the seed for what Katherine is alluding
to below. Web Link pretty much dissects the chart and the checkup; so
why can't we do that and more with stocks that list members put on the
table? Not recommendations, mind you; just, "Hey, I like what I'm
seeing on this one; What do ya'll think?" Then, let the group work them
over and wonder why: Why is this not a good buy or why is it a good buy?

And as for the issue stock price, maybe we ought to allow discussion
down to the $10+ level. Just a suggestion.

Bill and others,

Here's a suggestion so that you can both practice and contribute to the
list. Take a look at the IBD's list of most actives, "where the big
money's flowing", the weekend list, etc., and then randomly select a
stock or 2. Run them through a CANSLIM analysis and then post your
results for feedback. I find that most stocks I mine end up in the
stinky fish bin, so the conclusion in your analysis may very well be
thumbs-down and that should also be okay to post. You and others on the
list get to practice with a current stock and absolutely nobody will
then feel obligated to post their own mined list of candidates in order
to generate learning opportunities.

Re list posting........

As newbie and noncontributor to date, I can see the rationale of the
older
and more astute members of the list to not share the results of their
hard
work so that others can benefit.

However, IMHO, there would be some benefit to the overall list if the
new
members became better stock investors (and subsequently contributors)
based
on analyzing the posted stocks. Personally, I have learned a lot
already
by researching the stocks that are discussed to see if I would buy them
based on my understanding of the CANSLIM approach.
