PSTI - the short term pattern is an ascending base, generally not =
encouraging as it doesn't create a support level. But looking at the =
longer term pattern, I saw a LLUR, and that is a more significant =
pattern
PXXI - I saw the drop below the 50 DMA as breaking the base formation =
that started 1/28/02, so I started a new count when it again began to =
form a flat line base
UOPX - if in fact that is a cup that has formed, it is a very sloppy =
one, so I choose to disregard it and just focus on the recent flat line =
base (which would be the handle if there is a cup there)

The basic list I review requires RS and EPS of 80 or better, and =
within 5% of the 12 month high during the prior week. I look at the =
chart pattern for possibilities and patterns, and try also to note the =
earnings forecast (to eliminate those without at least a 20% growth =
forecast). but I don't do any due diligence beyond that, hence the =
"wannabees". I started this list several years ago with the idea of =
giving the group some valid candidates that had CANSLIM basis, using =
valid CS data. That remains my intent today, altho I have had to vary =
the criteria a little, and blend in other sources, to avoid legal =
problems with Daily Graphs Online.

  Tom,
Was looking at your list of Wannabees and have a few questions to =
further my education.

  Re base definition:
  PSTI-LLUR-why not a B6?
  PXXI-B5-why not a B12?
UOPX -B4-why not a potential cwh?-cup too short?

  Re fundamentals:
A number of the candidates had quarterly sales growth below WON's =
desired 25% and group RS less than 70%. Assume they would be dropped =
from consideration?

  Thanks,
  Bill King

    ECONOMICS
Initial claims, 4 week average of initial claims, and Continued =
Claims all rose more than expected, signaling a continuing rise in =
unemployment figures (a laggard indicator).

February Trade Gap was the largest in a year at $31.5 billion, even =
after factoring out energy products, just another sign of a recovering =
US economy trying to drag the global economy along. It was far higher =
that economist's forecast of 28.8 billion.

CPI rose a tame 0.3% in March, expectations were for a rise of 0.5%. =
Stripping out volatile energy and food portions, it was up only 0.1% on =
the core rate.

Housing starts dropped 7.8%, biggest drop in 12 years, but was =
measured against February's rate which was the highest in four years. =
New building permits also fell, by 9.9%, below expectations.

Industrial production for March was up 0.7%, expectation was for a =
gain of 0.5%. February's gain was revised to 0.3% gain. Capacity =
utilization came in at 75.4% against expectations of 75.1%, and =
February's rate of 74.9%.

Consumer debt is again out of control, and may curtail future =
spending needed to keep the economy growing. Consumers were spending =
14.3% of their disposable income just to service their debt during the =
4th quarter, highest rate since 1986. Debt service level was higher at =
the end of this latest recession than at the end of any of the prior =
three recessions, and was rising during the final six months of =
recession, while it declined in the final six months of the prior =
recessions. Worthwhile article at

    WORLEY'S WATCHLIST WANNABEES
As always, most here will have both RS and EPS of 80 or better, and =
be close to their 12 month high. I will try to note the exceptions to =
this. I will point out what I see in basing formations, such as c&h, =
double bottoms, or LLUR (Lower Left, Upper Right, not an approved WON =
pattern). Mostly I am looking for flat line basing, noted as Bx where =
"B"ase means "x" weeks, IMO. The population I am reviewing this weekend =
expanded sharply. Most charts are already extended, not much to pick =
from.

    AMZ - B4
    CMX - B5
CSTR - uptrending B6, but staggering earnings forecasts (713% this =
year and 123% next year), which will drop trailing PE from 486 to 52 =
projected this year
GLG - LLUR, small cap low priced gold stock, I have no confidence in =
it with a price/sales ratio of over 7, but nice chart
    ICTG - B4
NWRE - small cap, B2, powerful earnings forecast, in my VR fund
    OFIX - B6
    PETM - LLUR
    PNG - B4
PSTI - early stage LLUR?, in my VR fund, small cap
PXXI - B5, but EPS only 74, in my VR fund, small cap
    TTC - B7
    UOPX - B4
