Ian, I should re-phrase my statement "it also removes the added burden of modifying the rules" to modify the "technique"? Yes, it's not really the rules that change though I believe it was Tom who said he's been known to buy in the base (but admits this is NOT canslim). Also, the fact that the trading "window" is so small is a real problem for many. It forces one to be ready to hit the buy trigger very quickly - not the old HTMMIS version of "place the market order the next day" type of trade. It places the added burden of timing a breakout to possibly having to place a limit orders with an email or page alert to quickly check the volume at that time to see if it's valid (sort of hyper-canslim). Lastly though, one could do like me and wait for the major indexes to turn around and just hold a micro cap fund or two. Not very interesting but seems to tide me over. (my microcap fund has done very well). - -Bill Triffet - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ian" <ianstm@shaw.ca> To: <canslim@lists.xmission.com> Sent: Thursday, April 25, 2002 10:19 AM Subject: Re: [CANSLIM] Bear Rally? > "it also removes the added burden of modifying the rules > to fit the small and micro cap entry and exit strategies to reflect the > volatility of these groups" > > Bill: > > In my experience, there is absolutely no need to modify these rules for > microcaps.
