It would be nice to see an example of your spread sheet, Katherine.
If you are so inclined. I have heard of organization, once.
Some of my best friends are organized.

Hi Bill, Know what you mean
about notebooks/scattered pieces of paper/etc having been through that
myself. In fact, I started keeping a trading journal several years ago
simply to keep me from generating another piece of loose paper that I couldn't
find when I needed it. Since then, the journal has evolved into a strategy,
psychology, trade record, post analysis notebook and I've taken all my
specific stock notes into a single Excel spreadsheet. Literally my "brain
in a spreadsheet" approach. Each stock gets a row and I have many columns
where I keep all the pertinent info, including all the CANSLIM criteria,
personal notes, due diligence highlights, flags for certain actions, etc.
That allows me to autofilter and sort as needed to look at any specific
group of stocks. Much easier than looking for the scraps of paper, the
appropriate page in my journal, and/or keeping up with several different
spreadsheets and/or watchlists online. What a difference...can't tell you
how much time it saves...no more repeating what I've already done....and
no more wondering why I missed looking at the right stock when the opportunity
arose. Katherine

Katherine,I
would like to reorganize my approach to watchlist management. I started
with a notebook and the Investors.com watchlists (80 stocks max) then subscribed
to DGO and have started to set up watchlists based on market cap ( don't
really know why but it seemed like a good way to separate them). I still
have scattered paper notes around also. Feels like I'm back at work and
totally disorganized!! Any suggestions? Thanks,Bill
