This is a multi-part message in MIME format. - ------=_NextPart_000_01BF_01C1F694.BBC95090 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi everyone, One thing that puzzles me is the variation in quote PE's depending on = where you get your information. OK - I here everyone say - PE's have limitations etc which I agree with, = but within those limitations they can be a good way of assessing = valuation within those limitations. BUT a PE is not a PE as this article by Charlie Minter of Comstock = points out-- http://www.investavenue.com/article.html?ID=3D4999 Lets take an example- LMT according to my Quote.com quote sheet(part of q-charts) has LMT's PE = at 75.8 But according to Yahoo LMT's PE is 149.44 which they say is the trailing = twelve month earnings Bigcharts has LMT's PE at 162.50 Thomson FN has LMT's PE at 24.7. Any insight into this would be appreciated Thanks Peter - ------=_NextPart_000_01BF_01C1F694.BBC95090 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

<META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.2600.0" name=3DGENERATOR>

Hi everyone,

One thing that puzzles me is the = variation in quote=20 PE's depending on where you get your information.

OK - I here everyone say - PE's = have=20 limitations etc which I agree with, but within those limitations they = can be a=20 good way of assessing valuation within those limitations.

BUT a PE is not a PE as this article by = Charlie=20 Minter of Comstock points out--

<FONT face=3D"Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size=3D2> <A=20 href=3D"http://www.investavenue.com/article.html?ID=3D4999">http://www.in= vestavenue.com/article.html?ID=3D4999

Lets take an example-

LMT according to my Quote.com quote = sheet(part=20 of q-charts) has LMT's PE at 75.8

But according to Yahoo LMT's PE is 149.44 = which they=20 say is the trailing twelve month earnings

Bigcharts has LMT's PE at = 162.50

Thomson FN has LMT's PE at = 24.7.

Any insight into this would be = appreciated

Thanks

Peter

- ------=_NextPart_000_01BF_01C1F694.BBC95090-- - - - -To subscribe/unsubscribe, email "majordomo@xmission.com" - -In the email body, write "subscribe canslim" or - -"unsubscribe canslim".
