Morning Tom,
Good news on your holdings. I'm with you on that....I pay more attention =
to individual stocks and groups of stocks, so tend to pay less attention =
to the market index top/bottom conditions! Either way, all rallies begin =
with short covering....question is whether stocks building bases will =
continue and/or stage fresh break outs and whether good stuff will stay =
healthy. It'll be interesting to see whether the shorts will start fresh =
and press lg cap tech down again..... by itself not a worry, but may =
drag the good stuff down with it if it happens.=20

Thanks, Katherine, I get too focused on individual stocks, and forget =
the definitions sometimes (7 of 8 I own up today, last one hasn't traded =
yet). Nice day, and not giving much back across the board from what I =

The first day of an attempted rally is simply an up day that doesn't =
undercut the previous low in the ongoing downtrend. There aren't any =
volume requirements until the FTD. What it does mean, however, is that =
the action on the Dow on the 7th wouldn't qualify as the first day of a =
potential rally because the low of the day undercut the low of the =
previous day (even though the index *closed* up for the day).

disagree, David. While the volume was up, and it may prove to have =
been a short term bottom, the price gain was not even close to 1%, so =
doesn't count even under the old pre 1999 rules
