Duke, there's a big difference between buying the initial (partial) position, and completing or increasing the partial position. Note he is referring to "rounding out" the position. I don't think even IBD would dare to suggest starting the position more than 10% over the base, or pivot, depending on what you are using. But if you start with a partial position, and it is working, then you can exceed the "5% over pivot" rule in adding to it, IMO. For me, the key is to keep the average price of the position within the limits off the base or pivot, not each purchase. In many cases, I buy the full position in one transaction, but where I only buy a partial, I will add to it later if it is working. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Winston Little" <wlittle1@peoplepc.com> To: <canslim@lists.xmission.com> Sent: Tuesday, May 21, 2002 12:46 PM Subject: Re: [CANSLIM] Today's Weblink Stock - LOW My observation is that: The tone of Investor Corner varies with the author. For example today's author D.S-C often stresses the importance of Price Earnings Ratios in past Corner articles. Another C.W., is often more aligned with the traditional CANSLIM way. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Duke Miller" <dukemill@tampabay.rr.com> To: <canslim@lists.xmission.com> Sent: Tuesday, May 21, 2002 11:22 AM Subject: RE: [CANSLIM] Today's Weblink Stock - LOW > Also note in today's Investor's Corner: > > "...buy more shares to round out your position.
