Hi Marty,

Glad you found the spreadsheets useful.

I like VV very much as it fits my analytical style and combines =
technicals and fundamentals in a meaningful way. There's a lot to like =
despite its quirks. There are plenty of software products available, =
though I don't think any one of them "does it all." For example, I use =
both VV and DGO in my work because DGO has raw fundamental data and the =
IBD proprietary indicators so useful in CANSLIM investing and VV has =
analysis tools not available in DGO.

Depending on your own style, you may also find HighGrowthStockInvesting, =
QuotesPlus, TC2000 or other technical products very useful. The best I =
can suggest is that you give them each a whirl and see which floats your =
boat (and doesn't break the budget!).

The truth is that you can invest in the CANSLIM style with a =
subscription to the IBD and access to the web (several here on the list =
have described their approach using these methods), but the process you =
use will be very different than one you would adopt if you like to =
filter/sort through a lot of stocks to get the pulse of the market.

  HI Katherine,

I also wanted to say thanks for the excel sheets there are great!=20

You mention you use VectorVest how does the SW compare its earnings =
value report with DGO or with other sites? Have you tried to create a =
formula to find canslim stocks with the tool?

I was going to try VV but going on vacation at the end of next month =
and thought I wait until I get back to try their 5 week special. In the =
mean time I ordered MegaStock to try out until I go on Vacation.=20

Have anyone else have/had experience with either SW or others and =
what are some main important advantages/disadvantages of each you found?

I really like DGO but the price seems high $66 month IMO. To me the =
price should include everything on that site then I would considered it. =

  Thanks again,

  Marty

    Hi Mike,

The data you see in today's hunting list comes from my mega-CANSLIM =
watchlist. Info there is pulled from several sources, primarily =
DailyGraphsOnline (DGO, www.dailygraphs.com) and the software I use =
called VectorVest. I previously uploaded a skeleton spreadsheet which =
shows you how you can begin your own watchlist by incorporating the data =
from the daily DGO report export. It also has instructions for building =
links for the due diligence and charting sites for specific stocks which =
you add. Another link included in the skeleton spreadsheet but not =
included in today's version sends you to Mike Gibbons' cwhcharts.com =
site for a CANSLIM evaluation. Mike's site uses number crunching to =
identify the cup & handle charts you mentioned, though that service is =
fee-based. Take a look at their site and you will see white papers =
explaining the mathematics involved.

The skeleton spreadsheet here has basic formulas, but none of the =
super macros I use to run the daily updates. That should give you a good =
starting point if you are so inclined:

      Katherine,

I am a new member to this list. Your spreadsheet looks GREAT. May =
I ask how
you created it, and from what sources you pulled the data? Do you =
manually
create the list, or is it a bunch of macros?

I am an engineer, and a new CANSLIM'r so of course I want to think =
of a way
to automate everything!!! I have seen some sites that will flag =
CANSLIM
stocks that are forming a cup with handle, but I have not been =
able to
figure out how one would code something like that for screening.

      Thanks

      Mike
