John:
I owned DFXI, saw a technical sell signal on the day of the crossover,
attempted to place a stop/loss order in at my brokers internet site. I
couldn't because the symbol was invalid. Pointed the problem out to a
representative hours before the open but they didn't fix until well into the
trading day. To their credit they offered to take the order over the phone
at the internet price. I became distracted over the symbol change and
uncomfortable trading "blind" so decided to hold onto DFXI. The rest is
history.
Lessons to be learned with 20/20 hindsight:
1. I should have insisted that the symbol snafu be fixed in the brokers
software before the open.
2. I should not have got distracted by unimportant details. Next time I will
put the order in with the broker blind or not, over the phone, pony express,
whatever it takes.
NLS is still a top rated company and on my list to buy when the time is
right. gas175k
