Sam- I too was surprised they did not list more companies- in =
particular, the ones that might be market benefactors. (Considering IBD =
is an investment idea website- thought it would be nice...) Katherine =
and I had a conversation on this topic last week and found that most =
companies in this sector are ranked poorly (very) by IBD. Here's a link =
to the spreadsheet of companies I created. =
<http://www.kellyrshort.com/canslim/dvd_companies.xls> I'd be interested =
in hearing your thoughts on who in the industry might benefit most by =
the rising demand of dvd's.

Katherine's contributions:

- -DVD distributors such as DISK, HDL etc
- -Retailers such as AMZN, BBY etc
- -Hardware---runs the gamut from gaming hardware (Nintendo, XBox, etc), =
to video chips to handle the increased graphics requirements, to -DVD =
players (Samsung, Matsushita), to chips (INTC and some specialty chip =
makers), to DVD drive makers, etc.
- -Software, such as NAVR and ROXI etc.
- -Hardware components distributors such as TECD, IM, Games Makers who =
will beef up games offereings given the extra content capabilities of =
DVD based games, etc.
- -etc
- -etc

Kelly,

I really appreciate the link as I have a business that Manufacturers =
CD's and DVD's for companies and
Artists. I am surprised though as how vauge the article was and lack of =
names associated with the
potential upswing of DVD's. They only listed 3 possible benefactors of =
their insight. All of which
are hard pressed to meet CANSLIM from the number of shares outstanding =
angle. Any thoughts that I may
be missing?

Sam
