Duke,
=20
You bring up an interesting "Main Street" indicator of a bear market- I =
like to call this the "thickness of trade magazines" indicator. I have =
found that there is a direct correlation between how thick trade =
magazines get (i.e. Fast Company, Fortune, Businessweek, Business 2.0, =
etc.) and how the market is performing. While the "Fodder Index," as it =
is commonly referred to, moves down before a bear market, it =
unfortunately lags a new bull market. Today's Fodder Index is "Light" =
(the Fodder Index is not a numerical scale) with bellweather Red Herring =
and Inc. at "average" and Fortune declining for a third straight month =
but leveling off at "light". Hope this helps!

Darn, Kelly, and I just subscribed to Yahoo Internet Life . =
Fortunately I used cobweb clad Continental FF miles! Could it be =
subscribing to tech mags is getting to be like picking stocks? =20
=20
Saw the WSJ is in trouble due to severe drops in add spending. I guess =
the pall cast upon corporate giants by recent goings on leaves big =
business with very little institutional BS to buy space for! You know, =
like the recent, double-page spread appearing in IBD featuring huge =
images of the top two guns at Merrill-Lynch, trying to convince us they =
have renewed their commitment to us and only have investors interest at =
heart. Ugh! The more I see it the more I don't believe it!
=20
The trend now, as if nobody knew, is a rash of accountant jokes. Could =
it be accounting has joined the two largest professions, law and =
prostitution, in the Lack of Trust Department?! =20
=20
Can you believe we now have another "Duke" in the group? =20

Have a safe and fun 4th all.

Yahoo has recently ejected their streaming financial tv/internet service =
("the only one of its kind"? hello Bloomberg) and now Ziff-Davis is =
pulling Yahoo Internet Life. Is Yahoo in trouble, ejecting dogs, or are =
they wising up and returning to their roots? (Sergey Brin, cofounder of =
Google, calls it "their biggest mistake" straying from a search engine).

I'd add....has a myriad of reports (with proprietary indicators) that =
