Since WON and IBD focus so much on RS and industry group RS they only show
the strong stocks in the markets. That means that they dont really pay
attention to the laggards so most of the charts in IBD end up looking
bullish without visually showing all of the other sad looking charts.
Here is a chart showing the Nasdaq stocks above their 200 day MA
http://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/SC.web?c=$NAA200,uu[m,a]daclyyay[pb50!b20
0][vc60][i]&pref=G
Here is the same chart for the NYSE
http://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/SC.web?c=$NYA200,uu[m,a]daclyyay[pb50!b20
0][vc60][i]&pref=G
As you can see from those the market is in pretty sad shape overall. That
being said there is nothing wrong IMHO with going long on a very selective
basis in this market as long as you use really tight stops and small
positions. This of course makes it so you cant win real big but you cant
lose much either which should be the main focus anyways.

I keep hearing the group saying that M is bad, and I can't disagree, but it
sure seems that when I am looking at IBD everyday, and looking at the
stocks in the news, etc, there are a LOT that are up 30, 40 even 60% this
year. It is difficult to see those charts, and to be continually told that
we should be sitting on the sidelines...
I guess that is why I joined the group, to learn more.....

Please respond to
canslim
Of course we'd all be delighted to hear your comments on the stock, not
just the
lack of comments.
This market is in such a severe downward spiral that I don't see any reason
to be in
there at the present time. I know there are a few stocks going up and a
few people
on this list are having a little bit of success going long, but the odds of
being in a
stock that is moving up don't seem very good right now.
