Mike,

I don't subscribe to IBD anymore, but my guess would be that the stocks you
refer to are in the following groups: Gold, RIET's, Retail, Housing,
Financial Services, and Restaurants.

Gold and RIET's have been moving up as M has been going down (defensive
plays). Retail, Housing, Financial Services, & Restaurants in special
situations have been fighting the trend. The problem is finding a safe entry
point to these stocks. Very tricky business and not likely to be done with a
WON defined chart pattern.

I have been making some money going long in top quality Retail, Financial
Services, and Restaurant stocks lately, when the market is making one of
it's two to three day rallies. But, this is short term trading and not
CANSLIM investing.

In this current market environment strict CANSLIM investing means sitting
out. Anyone on this board that has been going long has been using their own
modified version of CANSLIM.

I keep hearing the group saying that M is bad, and I can't disagree, but it
sure seems that when I am looking at IBD everyday, and looking at the
stocks in the news, etc, there are a LOT that are up 30, 40 even 60% this
year. It is difficult to see those charts, and to be continually told that
we should be sitting on the sidelines...

I guess that is why I joined the group, to learn more.....

Of course we'd all be delighted to hear your comments on the stock, not
just the
lack of comments.

This market is in such a severe downward spiral that I don't see any reason
to be in
there at the present time. I know there are a few stocks going up and a
few people
on this list are having a little bit of success going long, but the odds of
being in a
stock that is moving up don't seem very good right now.
