One member recently asked if anyone uses SMR in evaluating stocks, and if not, why not. I was looking at a chart tonight because of an article in a periodical mentioning that 60% of their revenues come from protecting water supplies against terrorist acts. Seemed interesting, so took a look. Noticed SMR is a "B". However, although EPS is still 77, latest quarterly earnings are down 50%, forecast for full year a decline of 20%, RS down to 28 in a clearly negative trend, and latest sales were the lowest in five consecutive quarters. Simply put, for whatever reason, SMR does not give me an accurate indicator of either the chart or the fundamentals. The stock is TTEK, by the way (Tetra Tech).
