Here are a couple of paragraphs from Thom Calandra's column at CBS Marketwatch. I like the first one - anytime everyone is waiting for an event, it seems less likely to occur. Eric Crane says, "What is happening now is a buyer's strike ...what selling there is, is taking place in a vacuum and causing price declines. Regarding capitulation: if we do get it, it will be the most anticipated and forecasted capitulation I can remember in the 20-plus years I have been trading. That alone tells me it doesn't have to happen. Some bear markets end with a whimper." Finally, Paul Worth asks, "What I wonder is whether the composition of the NYSE stocks with, I believe, more preferred stocks and other lower-beta issues, has in any way limited the market's ability to get to those negative 90 percent (downside price and volume) extremes. Could that explain the lack of negative 90-90 readings lately?" - - - -To subscribe/unsubscribe, email "majordomo@xmission.com" - -In the email body, write "subscribe canslim" or - -"unsubscribe canslim".
