Bill, you don't mention what the period is that is being used, but if it is the past six trading days, the steepness of that decline to me is a "cliff", not a handle. My very loose definition of a "handle" still requires some kind of horizontal orientation, rather than a near vertical pitch. And volume for the past six days was at or over ADV every day, and down on price each day as well. I would have expected at least some logical support just under 40, it went right thru that support area without hesitation, that's a weak signal in my book. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Triffet" <btriffet@earthlink.net> To: "canslim" <canslim@lists.xmission.com> Sent: Thursday, July 18, 2002 6:49 PM Subject: [CANSLIM] ACMR - Investors.com weblink??? Anyone catch the Investors.com weblink? http://www.investors.com/weblink/ It's describing the action of ACMR. Now, look at what they define as a "second stage base" Yes, volume dried up for that period but look at the price swing - an over 20% decline from the previous high to the intraday low. I wouldn't have considered that a base at all. I guess the lack of volume is the key to interpreting that base? Perhaps I need to also consider the previous 79% gains based on the breakout from the first stage?
