Kelly,

I have been thinking about that same thing. Thanks to some of our kind list
mates, I have received a large number of the past SOD's that I have been
using for testing (New release later today...how's that for a teaser!).
Since the M has been back for a while, I think that going back six months
would be reasonable.

I have also noticed that there only seems to be about 5 or 6 different
screens of the day, and that they get rerun with the latest data . That
being the case, I suppose someone could place all of the same "type" of
screens in their own directory, and then run the compiler on that
directory. Therefore, you could end up seeing which, if any companies
showed up on the Overall best ratings screen over the last 6 months, for
example.

Having said that , I can see a need in later releases for the ability to
drill down in subdirectories, or only use the files in that directory.....

my 2 cents worth

Mike and statisticians in the group,

Do you think there is a limit to how far back you should go with the IBD
Screens of the Day for the screen compiler Mike has created? I'm not a
statisticians but it seems that using (for example) SOD's (Screen of the
Days) from the past year could produce skewed results- conditions might
have changed in the market to make the high flyers look like today's dogs
and you could be reviewing SOD's from different market conditions. However,
companies that continually show up on the SOD (regardless of time period)
would seem to offer stability and opportunity regardless of market
condition. Thoughts anyone?

I created some macros in an excel spreadsheet that will compile a master
list of the screens of the day (SOD) from investors.com. You can search
old messages for the details.

Mike,

I had the same problem with version 2 and tracked it down to a few
files.
See
attached.

Great tool! I was able to use it by simply removing the faulty files.

Thanks,
Billy

Rich,

Would it be possible for you to zip up all your screens of the day and
send
them to me so I can try to debugg it? I am wondering if it is possible
that the format of the files downloaded from IBD has changed slightly,
and
that might be causing the problem

Mike,
I have Out look Express, but was able to down load and save file in .zip
format
opened it and ran it, seems something is wrong
Got this Error "run-time error 1004" "select method of range class
failer"
also got a new file "composite.xls" with 5 tabs at bottom, which are May
1,
6, 7, 8, & 9
On the screencomplier I got RS but Column C & D are blank, so now not
sure
what to do next
I do have a lot of screen files, starting from 3/15, have every one to
today
7/8
I did try this more than once, same thing,
thanks if you can help me, as not very good with macro's, which I think
is
where the problem
may be, and not able to know how to fix.

Hi all

Attached is version 2 of the screener compiler. In this version, the RS
ratings for each stock are taken from each individual file , and placed
on
the master sheet.

When the clean up of the list is done, the highest RS value (if it
exists)
for each stock is the one that gets saved.

Let me know how it works.

Mike
