Great chart. We could similar time frame as the year 1930 (then again, who
knows?). I guess if ones good at catching 1-3 month "rallys" - there's money
to be made. If this week closes with a follow-thru, it will be a very
cautious one for me. These 300 point up days must be tempered with the
300-500 point downs. Also, we must consider the August deadline for
accounting verification. I think we'll see some wild swings before it's all
done.

On a totally non-related note. That rescue of the nine miners was amazing!
It's nice to see some good news these days. : )

Hi Ian,

I find the percentage gains in so many stocks these days to be humorous.
When a stock has dropped from $200 to $2, then jumps to $2.25 in a day, the
12.5% gain seems enormous....ah, perspective, it's a wonderful thing....

I've attached a chart showing the percentage gains in the 29-32 bear market
rallies. Interesting vantage point....

  Morning all:

Since last Wednesdays low - just 3 days of trading, the markets have had
an amazing run:

  The DOW is up a whopping 14.5 % (from 7489 to 8573)

  The S&P is up 13.8% (from 776 to 883)

The NAZ is up 9.5% (from 1192 to 1305)

These are mind-boggling returns BEFORE the chance for a traditional
follow-through-day (4-10 days after the bottom).

Does anyone know the history of these things? Is it possible to get a
bottom confirmation rally after already advancing almost 15% from the
bottom? Or is this just another fast and furious, take what you can get,
bear market short squeeze? Opinions?

  Thank you,

  Ian
