The Market is a lady
Who Cannot be pursued
By any of the methods
With which other gals are wooed.

The market is a lady
With composure and restraint.
If you beat her, she will take it
With no murmur of complaint.

But when you wish to take her,
You'd better play it cool,
For if you're hot and bothered,
She'll play you for a fool.

When your approach is heated,
You're apt to find her rigid,
For the market is a lady
Who's notoriously frigid.

The market, she is governed
By her head, and not her heart,
Like the mercenary ladies
To whom love is just an art.

Many million suitors
Upon this lady call,
And some declare the lady,
Isn't ladylike at all.
