My recollection is that employees of the Detroit Big 3 have been eligible
for family leave for several years, while employees of their competitors
across the Pacific Ocean are treated so well, that in winter they must wear
winter coats to keep from freezing in certain factories. Interesting thing
is that people in California are some of the most ardent buyers of those
products from the factories without heat.
