Having been a machinist for 15 yrs and an NC programmer for the last 7, I've watched the manufacturing industry nose dive. It's even more shocking to read and hear things like, "the loss in manufacturing jobs this month was offset by an increase in the service sector". Offset???! I guess if your not in direct ly employed by manufacturing, it doesn't matter...yet. I don't think we're going to see any change in the markets till there is a real change in the manufacturing sector. It was fine while everyone was preoccupied with the shooting stars of the internet and technology. Now, we must make REAL products that can will be used by people now...not just the future. Each day I look at IBD I only see charts and comments about companies that require the manufacturing sector to improve. Ex: Financial, banks, consumer goods, and medical related. None of these sectors can exist in a vacuum. Hopefully things will pickup. - -Bill - - - -To subscribe/unsubscribe, email "majordomo@xmission.com" - -In the email body, write "subscribe canslim" or - -"unsubscribe canslim".
